By Kathy Zucker • Friday, December 6, 2013 Capeless crusader Elizabeth Norton is at it again. Taking the Train to the Tree Lighting at NY Botanical Garden

By Kathy Zucker • Monday, November 18 2013 The Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden is an annual tradition for my kids, ages 7, 5 and one. The show tends to be very crowded from opening day in November through the end of the year, with crowds tapering off before the show closes in January. Last year, my family had an incredibly special private viewing of the train show thanks to a special event for MasterCard holders. This year, we were onstage with another MasterCard family as the kids were the Masters of Ceremony for the Christmas tree lighting. Results Published from Autism Infant Research Study

By Kathy Zucker • Thursday, November 7, 2013 Seven years ago when I was pregnant with my first child, I was approached by the head of an infant cognition study department. She asked, “Do you or your husband have any family history of autism?” When I replied in the negative, she followed up with, “Would you like to take part in a study to help diagnose autism as early as possible?” Of course, I said yes. For the next two years, I took my kids with me to Newark frequently to participate in testing. What was involved? Completing a lengthy questionnaire detailing family medical history and the circumstances of pregnancy and birth, having the kids wear eye trackers as they watched television to see what their eyes followed, taking an assessment test and finally, undergoing brain scanning. We did not receive compensation for our participation. Here is a pic of my daughter having her brain scanned. Pic of my daughter during brain scan for #autism research program. The research has been called “a major leap forward.” More – Support Group In Your Back Pocket – NJ Digital Moms Kathy Zucker, CEO of Metro Moms Network, mother of three young children and New York Life Keep Good Going Shorty Award winner and judge, writes about juggling career and family in an urban setting. New Jersey Digital Moms + Dove = Redbook Magazine

By Kathy Zucker • Sunday, November 3, 2013 I often receive emails from the Casting Networks looking for kids and adults of various ages and ethnicities. The first few months, I would scan through each one to see if my family fit the parameters and in a couple of cases, apply. You really have to be on top of your game to land these assignments since speed is the name of the game. Early responders get priority, and you also need to have all your paperwork ready to go so the person doing the casting can determine right away if you qualify. So when the Dove casting call popped up on my New Jersey Digital Moms feed, I didn’t think much of it. I sent in my picture and figured it was a long shot. Much to my surprise, several of the NJDmoms received an immediate response. This month, Georgette Gilmore (@gmgilmore), Editor-in-Chief of Barista Kids and I appeared in the November edition of Redbook Magazine. We had a simply amazing day of beauty at the Hearst NYC offices having our hair done by Ilda and Lionel of Salon Ziba and makeup by Patricia. Look who I spotted in the @Dove ad for @redbookmag November 2013! #JerseyCity native @gmgilmore! pic.twitter.com/Lg17ZW06jU — Kathy Zucker (@kathyzucker) November 4, 2013 Even more impressive? I’m still using the same bottle of Dove conditioner every day. .@dove nutritive solutions daily moisture products still holding out after 4 months of daily use. pic.twitter.com/iW4XQpbtKw — Kathy Zucker (@kathyzucker) November 4, 2013   — Kathy Zucker (@kathyzucker) November 4, 2013   More – Support Group In Your Back Pocket – NJ Digital Moms Kathy Zucker, CEO of Metro Moms Network, mother of three young children and New York Life Keep Good Going Shorty Award winner and judge, writes about juggling career and family in an urban setting. Free Day of Swing at the Lincoln Center of New Jersey – NJPAC

By Kathy Zucker • Saturday, November 2, 2013 Photo Credit: NJPAC Finding free fun activities for the whole family can be tough once cold weather sets in and outdoor festivals and street fairs close up shop. Next Saturday, November 9th, get the whole family moving at the Day of Swing at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. Located 20 minutes from Hoboken by car and mass transit, there is ample parking at four lots steps from the NJPAC front door. RSVP here for this free event. .@NJTRANSIT_HBLR located steps from @njpac NICO restaurant – cross lush landscaping to get there. pic.twitter.com/CeZXPA3AP6 — Kathy Zucker (@kathyzucker) June 11, 2013 Have I mentioned that NJPAC is drop dead gorgeous? I had no idea there was a concert hall the caliber of Lincoln Center in the heart of Newark. On the trip from Hoboken, the kids were riveted at the sight of giant modern art sculptures along a verdant strip of lawn across the river from NJPAC. Families can rent private @njpac rooms for intermission snacks or host weddings for thousands. #Newark pic.twitter.com/ibUVymNPUY — Kathy Zucker (@kathyzucker) June 11, 2013 Tonite 7-9 pm: Newark’s DJ Omar Abdallah Spins House at Riverfront Park #NewarkNJ http://t.co/7Y4WYZxtsx @essexparks @newarkpulse — NewarkRiverfront (@NewarkRiverfrnt) September 27, 2013 And when all that swing dancing builds up an appetite, grab a family-size table at the ample NJPAC Nico restaurant.
