Some days, you wake up to find that people you adore and haven’t seen in ages are gathered outside your front door.
My husband and I met twenty years ago on our college fencing team. Yesterday, we found out that the competition that is the annual social event of the New York City college fencing scene was taking place steps from our home in Hoboken, NJ. Of course, we had to go.
I saw people I have not seen in over a decade. I reconnected with friends who came to cheer on their college teams, as well as seeing new friends I met at recent competitions. It was an amazing experience to have a playdate both for kids and adults while revisiting the fiery memories of college fencing competitions.
