New Year’s Resolutions For Social Media – Dive In or Run Away Screaming?

By Kathy Zucker • Saturday, December 21, 2013

What do people truly think about social media?

Some find it terrifying.

Others find it entertaining.

Many people use it to find out about breaking news.

I use social media to network. Twitter flattens the corporate structure – last week I connected with a startup founder and vice presidents at MasterCard and a media company.

I also got flood insurance help from TD Bank.

Social media is not all fun and games. You need to approach it seriously, the same way you would if you were networking to find a job. Used properly, it can pay off in spades.
