Hoboken, NJ is renowned for having the most bars per square mile in the United States. Many bars? Are also restaurants.
When Hudson Restaurant Week began on July 29th, I jumped at the opportunity to get out of the house and enjoy some fine cuisine. With three kids home for the summer, my downtime has become nonexistent. A school friend suggested we take our daughters to the Brass Rail for a little R&R. Another bonus? Teaching these kids some etiquette on the cheap.
For Hudson Restaurant Week, the Brass Rail offers the BR Trio. $12 gets you a choice of three entrees from a possible 16. Spot a menu item you adore? Request a double portion.
It’s been 10 years since the last time I ate at the Brass Rail, and I am happy to report that the food is just as delicious as I remembered. The place is also surprisingly kid friendly – when my daughter decided it was time to play tag on the leather seating, nobody blinked an eye. I will definitely be coming back for some more of that delicious short rib sandwich. I might even stray from the specials since I hear great things about the lobster rolls.
