Pumpkin picking near Hoboken

I took the kids pumpkin picking yesterday at Abma’s Farm in Wyckoff. It took us 40 minutes to get there. Parking and the adorable petting zoo are free, you pay $5 per person (kids under 2 are free) for the hay ride to the pumpkin patch (it was REALLY bumpy) that leaves about every 15 minutes. There were plenty of the pumpkins in the patch, including a bunch of orange blossoms – really cool to explain to the kids that the flowers turn into tiny green pumpkins that then grow into big orange ones. We picked up a big pot of mums at the nursery, and they were also selling hay bales.

There is a nice store there with excellent baked goods, produce like tiny fresh strawberries and a really good deli counter with chicken fingers and hot soup.
