Set Sail on a Sea of Cannoli
Labor Day is always a rude awakening in the Hoboken area. Cushion the blow with a maritime celebration at the free 86th Annual Hoboken Italian Festival at Sinatra Park in downtown Hoboken. Open on Thursday, September 6th and Friday, September 7th from 5pm-11pm, and from 12pm-11pm on Saturday, September 8th and Sunday, September 9th.
Load up on cannolis from Carlo’s Bakery aka “The Cake Boss,” get the kids’ facepainting, watch the cannoli eating and stomping contests, and experience the feast of Madonna dei Martiri. Finish with fireworks on Saturday evening. For more details, visit the festival website.
Have you tried Giorgio’s Italian & French Pastry Shop? Their cannolis are much better and a little cheaper but don’t come with the fanfare of the cake boss.
